Dental Horizons FAQ

How are emergencies handled after hours?

If you have an after office hours emergency, you may call the office phone number and get the emergency number for the on call dentist to call you. (If you have a landline with blocking feature, please unblock your block number feature by dialing *87).

What age range of patients do you see?

We see adults, children and senior citizens. Children are typically seen for the first time at three years of age and may be referred to a pediatric dentist only if it is indicated.

Do you accept new patients?

We are always happy to see new patients! To insure accurate diagnosis and thorough treatment, all new patients are scheduled for a comprehensive oral examination, including any necessary x-rays and diagnostic procedures. Our patient coordinators will write up a plan for your future treatment.

Are most procedures performed in your office or would I be referred to a specialist?

As general dentists, Dr. Sampier, Dr. Nyhuis and Dr. Childress, perform all types of treatment including extractions and root canals in the office. In almost all cases these procedures can be performed here. In the rare situation where a patient cannot be treated here, there are specialists in the area that they will refer you to.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, VISA, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Financial arrangements offering extended terms are also available through CareCredit. Our patient coordinators are experts in making excellent dental care affordable for almost every budget.

Will you file a claim with my insurance company or is that my responsibility?

As a service to our patients, we submit claims to your insurance company. Patients are responsible for their estimated percentage of the fee and or deductible at the time of service.

Will you still see me if you do not participate in my insurance?

We have many patients in our practice where we are not "In-network" for their plan. We will submit electronic claims to your insurance company. You may have a higher co insurance. Sometimes hygiene appointments are still covered when you see a dentist outside of your plan. It is best to contact your insurance company as each plan is different. Ask them about your out-of-network coverage.

Where should I park?

There is plenty of parking in front of our building. We have handicapped spaces available and our office is handicapped accessible.

What type of cosmetic procedures do you perform?

We do many types of cosmetic dentistry including, whitening, veneers, crowns, tooth colored (composite) fillings and orthodontics with Six Month Smiles. We specialize in partial and full dentures and bridges.

Our goal is to ensure that you receive superior dental care. We believe in using quality labs and products and our fees are reasonable. Our staff is professional, friendly and knowledgeable and we welcome you, your family, co-workers and friends!
